Childhood Cancer Awareness
In April of this year, Deb Price, the newly elected President of the SG Area Lions, was recognized by Lions Clubs International with the Lions of Pennsylvania Fellowship Award. This photo shows Dave Fluire, the Past District Governor, presenting Deb with the award at the Shade Gap Lions regular monthly July 9th meeting.
Deb is the Childhood Cancer Awareness Chairperson for PA Lion District 14-L, and was instrumental in our club raising over $5,000, that was donated to the Four Diamonds Pediatric Cancer Research Center in Hershey, PA.
Food Drive Project
Beginning in January (2026) we have placed food donation bins in our local stores. To date, our community have provided enough food for three deliveries to Shade Gap's two food pantries.
We are happy to continue the food drive as long as our community supports it's operation.

Hometown Hero
Banner Project
The Lions Club is sponsoring a project to honor our hometown heroes. You can purchase a banner to honor a Hometown Hero in Shade Gap, Neelyton, Dublin Township, Richvale, and points in between. The cost is $200.00 for a 5 feet by 2 1/2 feet vinyl banner of high quality. The price includes free installation.

Scholarship SHC
We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Shade Gap Area Lions \Club Southern Huntingdon County High School Scholarship Program.
Two students were selected, based on their scholastic achievement and community service, to received a scholarship of $500.00 each. Thanks to Lion Matt Hartman, who presented the scholarships at the May 19th Class Day event to:

2. Diego Ramirez Ricker ~ Mount Aloysius for Nursing - BSN ProgramOfficers
