History of the
Shade Gap Lions Club
The Shade Gap Lions, after a three year absence, has returned! In 1959, the Shade Gap Lions Club was formed with the assistance of the Orbisonia Lions Club and for nearly 65 years served the community.
Answering the Call
In the summer of 2025, Gerald “Chappy” Chapman, a member of the Blair Mills Lions, led an effort to reinstate the Shade Gap Lions Club. Through his persistence and hard work, the club is back and pursuing the Lions mission.
“I felt it was the right time for Shade Gap to revive the Lions Club. I also felt it was the right time in my life to give back to the community I cherish.” - Gerald “Chappy” Chapman
